Directions
From the mountain station of the Plose gondola lift, hiking trail no. 17 first leads along the WoodyWalk to junction no. 17C, the Lorggen, to Skihütte. The path is flat at first, then gently slopes through the forest to Skihütte.
Here, the Pfannspitze gondola lift takes you to 2,468 m in less than 5 minutes, where path no. 7 leads, after a first short climb, mostly on a level course to the ascent to Mount Gabler. This last section, about 50 m long, requires sure-footedness. The reward on top of Mount Gabler (2,576 m) is all the greater. The panoramic views couldn’t be more beautiful.
The way back continues on trail no. 7 over the ridge of Mount Gabler and then swings to the Hinteralm, also known as Gableralm, an un-serviced alpine hut, where it meets trail no. 14. This leads first to the lodge Rossalm and then back to the starting point of the tour.
For those who prefer to conquer Mount Gabler on foot, we recommend the Three Peaks Tour.
Important: For hikes in the mountains you need proper equipment. Always wear sturdy shoes with non-slip soles, and bring rain protection, a warm jacket, even in summer, and plenty of water with you. Hiking at your own risk.

Highlight
Legend has it that one upon a time the moon princess fell ill with homesickness in the Dolomites. Thus, a dwarf people covered the mountains with a net of threads of light and the princess was healed. The mountains, however, remained pale mountains.
Unforgettable: Sunrise in the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites. Sunrise hikes are offered every summer, taking you up the mountain at night so you may experience the magical first ray of sunshine.
